A Family Show (Oatmeal Crispies)
Oatmeal Crispies; if you want, you can cut the sugar in half and substitute about ¼ cup of wheat germ for ¼ cup of the flour. They are more nutritious made this way. Though they’ll taste better with all the sugar.
Preheat the oven to 350.
1 c. melted margarine
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 t. vanilla |
3-½ c. flour
1 t. salt
1 t. soda
3 c. quick-cooking oats
(we have used regular oats too) |
Mix together melted margarine and sugar; add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add oatmeal (and nuts if desired). Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and criss-cross with a fork dipped into flour.
Bake at 350 for ten minutes
Makes about 5 dozen cookies
