Making Plans FOR Him

It is Wednesday afternoon, time to start thinking about and making your weekend plans. Of course you want to spend time with your boyfriend but he is not offering any suggestions whatsoever. Then the phone rings. Your good friend Nick is throwing a party and he wants you two to come. You say yes, you both will definitely be there. But you don't even ask your boyfriend if he is okay with the idea. Sound familiar? This is not a great situation to be in for you or especially your guy. No one likes to be put on the spot and that is exactly what you are doing to him! The only solution to this problem is to avoid it in the first place.

Your boyfriend does not want to upset you or offend Nick's feelings. He has no idea what he is being roped into so how can he know if he really wants to go to the party? If he does not go he may seem rude to the host. However if he does go, however unwillingly, he will probably be in a bad mood for the entire evening. It is a good idea to only speak for yourself when this kind of situation arises. Give your guy the chance to make up his own mind. That way he will feel no pressure and you will get along better in the long run!
