Most all women enjoy attention from men, even if the attention is the man hitting on them. Yet sometimes a guy just won't give up and you find yourself desperately trying to give him a hint. You don't want to be rude but you really do want to discourage them from showering you with attention. Is this possible? Definitely! But you have to be careful of how you say things to them. Here are a few examples of how to politely discourage a very persistent guy.

If he gives you a compliment on your outfit tell him "Thanks, my boyfriend bought this shirt for me." If a guy continuously tries to start up a conversation with you, politely tell him "It was so nice to meet you but I see my friend Jake just walked in and I'm going to go say hello." If you happen to be stuck with a guy who is intent on bragging about his incredible baseball career in the minor leagues try acting disinterested by looking around the room. When he finishes simply smile and say, "I'm sorry, you were saying?" Unfortunately, beyond these suggestions there is not much you can do. Be creative with these ideas and if all else fails you may have to get straight to the point. Try not to be too hard on yourself if you must be rude. You did try to give him a hint!
