I'm Single and I'm Happy, I Don't Need A Date!
By Abby Horton

We all have that one friend who seems to be joined at the hip with her boyfriend--and wants you to have the exact same experience. You are very happy for her but you cannot stand her constant request that you always bring a date when she invites you to hang out with her and her guy. Chances are she has forgotten the fun in a ladies night out (love can blind you). You understand how she can be like this; you have been there before. You just wish that once in a while she would remember that you are still single and like it that way. Why is she like this? You do not flirt with her boyfriend and you do not dress to suggest. So you are certainly not threatening, what is the reason?

It seems to you that her rules and regulations for hanging out are simply obnoxious. You have decided to show up solo next time, which is perfectly okay. Just assure your friend that you will have a great time, even if you are alone. If you act, and actually are, having a good time going solo she may drop the rulebook (on her own big toe no less). She may even decide to surgically remove her man and join the girls for a night out on the town. She just needs a little convincing and encouragement. And it is obvious that you in all of your glorious singleness can give it to her.
